Restore Justice Illinois’ Action Team helps to get out the vote for legislators who believe in compassion. We’re a diverse community of engaged people who believe in criminal legal system reform.

What we do now in preparation for elections

FUNDRAISING

We donate to candidates who believe in our mission and values.

CANDIDATE RECRUITING

We research, recruit, and endorse candidates that support compassionate policies and reforms within the Illinois criminal legal system.

BUILDING COMMUNITY

Before elections begin, the Action Team will meet for periodic check-ins in order to strategize and build community. The work to elect reform-minded legislators begins long before election season.

What We’ll Do During Election Season

Knock on Doors

We will get out and canvass! We will knock on doors to get out the vote for candidates who support criminal legal system reform.

Make phone calls

Making phone calls helps ensure people will get out and vote. We host phone banks for candidates who believe in making the criminal legal system fairer and more compassionate.

Check-in with your volunteer community

Restore Justice’s Action Team meets regularly for check-ins during election season to discuss ways to get involved and build community.

Join Restore Justice Illinois’ Political Action Team to help elect Illinois legislative candidates who will protect important criminal legal system reforms and work to continue making progress in our state. Members of the Action Team will help get out the vote for legislators who believe in compassion.

Team members will receive a weekly email update from Restore Justice Illinois (with information on the election and the races), have the option to attend a weekly virtual check-in, and work on behalf of candidates by knocking on doors and making phone calls.
